John Andrews commonplace-books, 1784-1826.

Two commonplace-books kept by Rev. John Andrews, minister at the First Religious Society, Newburyport, Mass. The first, 1784-1826, contains copies of letters sent and received; notes regarding donations from ladies' church societies; copies of disputations preached before Phi Beta Kappa of Harvard; and sermon notes. The second commonplace-book, 1795-1822, records the dismissal of Rev. Ebenezer Hubbard from the First Church of Newbury, Mass., 1811; the departure of Rev. John Popkin from the First Church of Newbury to teach at Harvard University, 1815; and includes copies of sermons written by Andrews, 1795-1812.
